The IRS revoked Daniel Mahoney’s non-profit 503c status after Mahoney failed to file reports and the committee could not account for how the money was spent. Tens of thousands of dollars were reportedly unaccounted for.
Mahoney’s organization took over $100,000 in donations from local donors wanting to help needy families. However, Mahoney never filed tax returns on the donations. After Mahoney’s organization sought $2 million in tax dollars from the state, the IRS revoke its status as a non-profit.
Now, Mr. Mahoney’s non-profit is under investigation to find out where the money went.
